Hey everyone,
I hope the first 3 weeks of school have been as great for you all as it has for the 8th grade band. They’re sounding great on the fight song in preparation for their performance at homecoming!
I want to share details on the 9/30 rehearsal that the 8th grade band will attend with the HS Band, especially in light of new guidelines the district has set out during the EEE outbreak. Students should arrive at in order to begin rehearsing at 6pm. At 7 pm the 8th grade students will be dismissed while the HS students continue their rehearsal indoors. We will have a parent meeting in the HS band room during the rehearsal to go over all of the information for 8th grade band and answer any questions you might have about the HS band program. So, to summarize, students and parents should be here at 6pm on Monday, 9/30.
Details for the Homecoming Night game on 10/4 will be coming out soon. The district is making adjustments to the game-day schedule, so we don’t have any specifics to share.
We have also received questions about using RevTrek to pay the Band Donation fee. RevTrek is not accessible for band payments, but you can pay via CC on the band website at https://www.mattawanbands.

8th Grade Band Homecoming Activities
Monday, September 30
- Rehearsal with the High School
- Where: High School Band Practice Field (parking lot)
- *In the event of rain, the practice will take place inside the HS band room
- When: 6-7pm (MEETING FOR PARENTS IN HS BAND ROOM)
- Bring: Instruments, music, and a water bottle
- Wear: Tennis Shoes, jeans/long pants, and a jacket/hoodie.
Optional: Bug Spray
Friday, October 4
- Football Game Performance
- Where: Back Visitor’s Entrance at the stadium
- When: 5pm
- 8th and High School Bands will perform in the stands
- Main performance will occur during halftime
- Students will be dismissed after halftime (approx. 6:45pm)
- Bring: Instrument
- Wear: Blue Band T-shirt with a warm layer underneath, jeans, and tennis shoes
- Optional: Bug Spray
- *Pizza, water, and snacks will be provided at the game
